Jakarta, 11 November 2024 –
The Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, in coordination with the Indonesian National Armed Forces Headquarters (Mabes TNI), is discussing proposed locations for connecting Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) posts through the SATRIA-1 satellite service under the BAKTI AKSI program.
Fadhilah Mathar, President Director of BAKTI Komdigi, welcomed the proposed site submissions from Mabes TNI as part of the ongoing effort to expand digital access.
“We are currently awaiting the official list of proposed sites from the Indonesian Armed Forces Headquarters for the BAKTI AKSI program, specifically targeting Navy posts that require internet connectivity,” said Fadhilah Mathar during a meeting at Mabes TNI in East Jakarta on Monday, November 11, 2024.
The BAKTI AKSI initiative aims to support defense and security post connectivity by leveraging the government’s multi-functional satellite services.
“We will be deploying VSAT equipment and utilizing SATRIA-1, the Republic of Indonesia’s national satellite, at the designated sites,” she added.
Major General Gabriel Lema, S.Sos, Assistant for Operations to the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, previously outlined plans for proposing Navy post locations in need of BAKTI AKSI’s satellite connectivity.
“These proposed sites align with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita Mission, particularly within the administration’s first 100 days,” he stated.
As part of the national agenda, enhancing digital connectivity in the defense and security sectors is a key component of the Asta Cita Mission led by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
The BAKTI AKSI Komdigi program utilizes a range of technologies—including satellite, fiber optic, radio link, and VSAT station equipment—to deliver internet access across Indonesia. It serves various public facilities such as schools, training centers, health clinics, village offices, military posts, and other community sites.
